It was very interesting to hear your podcast on feature interaction.

The research community has been active in feature interaction since the early 1990s. There have been eight international conferences on the subject, the proceedings have been published by IOS Press. There have been many scientific papers. Most of this research has been industrially motivated. Many of the case studies have been real-life case studies.

Yes, IMS is shaping up as a big area for FI research.

Unfortunately, after the 'bubble burst' it has become hard to grab the attention of industrial partners on this research area. In other words,it has become difficult to obtain funding for it. As you have said, there is a rush to produce features and no concern about the consequences.

The FI research community is still quite alive and we remain very interested in pursuing industrial projects.
