On this week's Canadian IP Thought Leaders podcast, Jon spoke with Barry Fogarty, President of Diginiche. This Toronto-based company is focused on advanced collaboration applications, and is finding a growing audience for their technology. Barry spoke about the need for an ease-of-use platform, and how their browser-based solution brings collaboration tools to a broader audience. Collaboration tools are now finding their way into new markets, and Barry addressed the broader opportunity beyond conventional workplace applications.

Barry Fogarty is a photographer, programmer and producer who has led seminars in interactive imaging for Apple, Canon and Nikon, and who has created award-winning content for companies such as HP, Hitachi, Seiko, Ford, Nissan and Better Homes and Gardens.

He is also the founder of diginiche, a development studio that was originally incubated in the University of Toronto’s Innovation Foundation, and is currently part of the MaRS Commercialization Centre. Octopz, the company’s software product, makes online collaboration easy and affordable. Currently in final beta, the application has been featured in an Intel Case Study, and will be commercially released in Q3 2006.
